Well, not more than a month from aquiring this little tincan 1969 RedDale Rv...and we are already getting this show on the road! Thank goodness for the perks of having a husband who is in the business of construction. For meer pennies, and the graces of a few friends, we have been able to completely re-do the interior of this little tincan. The inside paneling has been painted (to hide some of the wear and tear) to match the incredibly cute vintage mini-oven and icebox! New (used) wood floors and trim have been installed, the mica that the previous owner donated has been put in, and the curtains are done!!! And I will say it is about as cute as can be! I have been tweaking with hanging some miniature artwork that is from my Original paintings and dolly'ing this little tincan up to have some charm. So things are comin' along...the calendar is getting full as venue opportunities are opening up, its exciting to know that this little tincan aptly named 'The Mustang Mansion' is going to be performing an incredible task of bringing awareness as it cruises across the western states. As warm weather permits (we are still in colorado winter season) we will give this little tincan a good exterior washing...prime the surface and get ready to begin painting the outside with murals of wild mustangs running across the rangleland and links to connect curious passer-bys to thier 'Living Legends'! Enjoy the pics of the interior so far! Books, DVD's, Brochures, and much more have already started coming in from different organizations to help educate and inform the public as we share these products across the western states. If you have anything you would like to make an addition to the Mustang Mansion...dont hesitate to contact us and inquiry, we would love to share for You! That in mind...we are also offering a 'Bumpersticker' campaign on the rear of the tincan...you can learn more of that on the Running Horses Facebook page under the note 'BumperSticker Campaign'...go check us out!

There was joking all year last year about getting 'this circus' on the road. I traveled 4 states last spring/summer hitting as many shows as I could and traveling on the road two weekends or more from March to the end of September. It was a busy season of tent camping, packing, unpacking, setting up, tearing down, and moving art displays etc all summer. By the end of summer, my wheels were already in the spin to figure out a better way to do what I was doing. And so the dream began...it started with the vision of a vintage RV...Educational materials, DVD's playing, art and cool stuff to touch and feel...maybe even a mustang joining on the circus from time to time. And here we are in January and the beginning of the circus is in the works. We leave thursday to pick up our little '1969 Red Dale Vintage RV', its a 15 foot light weight easy pull with lots of storage and wall space to fill with a mural of mustangs running free on the outside to arouse the curiousity of passerbyes...Am I excited you ask...you betcha! It reminds me of our 'evangelistic' early days, bringing the 'gospel' message to the streets...only the 'mustang' gospel message now will be presented through the visual arts, music, photography, poetry and literature...all in the form of what we will call a little 1969 RV...'The Mustang Mansion'. I have been on the phone all week getting schedules planned with stops in 6 states beginning the first part of April. Along with a packed season of shows and stops, we will also be doing a few Benefits to help raise funds and even do some building of an office/shop, putting Cip's skills to work as he travels with me and donates his time for some mustang sanctuaries along the way. I will say I have been completely overwhelmed at the support and encouragement that has been offered to help get me to the next phase of 'vision' for the road tour. Even as I talked of this last year...the idea of it coming to pass was a little hard to imagine with the financial pressures all around. But, you came through! I am so thrilled thru calendars, wearable art, prints and a few paintings, and even the sheer generosity of some...the funds have been raised and the purchase made to 'get this circus' on the road! I will take the next few weeks good weather permitting and begin the work of cleaning, prepping and painting the logo design and links on the outside...loading up with a 'library' that will be shared in rest stops, road sides, parking lots and where ever we may meet those with a curious heart to learn more of our magnificant American Living Legends...the Mustang. A huge thankyou...to so many of you, for your prayers, words to press on, for your investment thru art to support this circus tent tour! Your spirits will be with me in heart as we pull out of the driveway for our first departure this spring. There is still much that will be needed to prep the RV to be road ready...below are few things I am presently still needing to acquire...If you are in a place to help, trade for some art, or donate...please contact me! And...enjoy the pics of our early beginnings! Some stuff to accomodate the Library... A 16-20" Flat Screen DVD combo Tv for showing documentaries & range footage Books and literature all about our wild ones! Documentary DVD's of wild mustangs from HMA's and Holding facilities An outside canvas portable tent to set up outside the RV I will be 'dolling' this TinCan up with horsey curtains and miniature wall art and the like to provoke all kinds of curiousity and create an environment that says 'Mustang' without even saying a word ;0) stay tuned as renovations take place! |
